Lewis & Clark Elementary School

Built and dedicated in 1953 along with sister building, Greenacres Elementary School, Lewis & Clark opened its doors in 1954 to young students in the North Pocatello area. A year after completion, additions were already in order. Both schools received three more classrooms, a reading room, and boys and girls restrooms.

Lewis & Clark is located off Alameda Road next to Alameda Center, which houses alternative schools including New Horizon High School, Kinport Academy, and Teen Parent Center. Lewis & Clark students, known as Explorers, embrace their western heritage, often adopting a pioneer theme in their activities and materials including an enchanting Web site.

Mission

Our mission at Lewis and Clark Elementary is to provide an equal opportunity for success for all children intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically, so that they can become self-reliant, confident, and eager to learn.
